Rails was built using Ruby and makes it much easier to develop web applications with Ruby. Some notable applications have been built using Ruby on Rails: They incude Basecamp, Twitter, Shopify, Github, LivingSocial, Groupon, Hulu, Airbnb, Yellow Pages to just mention a few..
