Description
A depiction of the interior of the Lapin Agile, a famous cabaret club in Montmartre area of Paris. It was produced during the Rose Period, and includes a self-portrait of the artist who frequented the club in his youth. Produced in 1905, after Picasso and his friend settled in Paris; they found a new social circle to mingle and frequented the club known as Lapin Agile where they would often exchange ideas and drink with other artists. After a traumatic event, Picasso was commissioned to create a painting for the caberet club, which he received in exchange for food and drinks. Frame Description: Spencer Rustic. Color: Rust/Copper.
