Loyalist Hostas are also loved for their capability to survive in heat and humidity, growing up to 24 in. tall and wide and flourishing best in USDA zones 3 to 8. These plants should be grown in part to full shade, moist, well-drained soils and although slow growing, they produce thick leaves that help with survivability as well as discouraging snails and slugs.
