Florence Parks pus on an amazing display of huge violet flowers blossoming in unison within their colorful bunches. The bright purple coloring of these blossoms is certainly lovely at a glance, but upon closer inspection the heart of each blossom also contains an array of darker magenta freckles arranged in an intricate pattern around the center. A great quality of Florence Parks is that it blossoms later than most other Rhododendrons, usually between the end of May and beginning of June. This effectively allows this shrub to avoid late frosts and cold weather that could damage the deep purple blossoms. This colorful evergreen shrub disregarded as the most popular purple Rhododendron for colder climates due to its beautiful violet freckled flowers and hardiness down to minus 30°F. This colorful shrub lives best in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 4 through 9. Florence Parks is a medium-sized Rhododendron, reaching a height of 6 ft. to 8 ft. and a width of 3 ft. to 4 ft. Dazzling violet blossoms cover this shrub and sparkle against the dark green foliage. Florence Parks is an excellent choice for a cold-climate Rhododendron, or to plant for continuous color in a landscape after the early spring flowers have finished.
