Description
The Elliot is widely planted throughout the Southeastern United States. It is a prolific pecan tree, yielding an abundance (around 82 per lbs.) of excellent quality, flavorful pecans. The nuts are thin shelled with a plump kernel and has a distinct hickory nut flavor. The Elliot is also highly scab resistant making it low maintenance and an excellent choice for home orchard plantings. It is a Type-2 pollinator, and should be pollinated with a Type-1 pecan tree (we recommend Desirable, Oconee, or Pawnee). The Elliot is hardy in Zones 6-9 and can be planted in full sun or partial shade. Plant in deep, moist, and well-drained soil. The tree is shipped in a 4x4x10 in. pot with a minimum height of 12 in.
