Description
The Gárgulas set is inspired by the sculptural work designed by José Aurélio for the building of the National Archives of Torre do Tombo. Monumental sculptures carved in monolithic cubes of limestone, each weighing 30 tons, distributed by the facades of the building into two groups of four. The first two sculptures of this collection are The old, the new and death, and the good and the evil, part of a first phase, called “The Perpetrators of History”, figures which indicate opposites and dichotomies present in historical development.
