Further on the design: The drawing adapts the “Saf” design of classic Khotan rugs in a whole new minimalist way we’ve never seen before. This geometric pattern enjoys fine detail, and tones of pink and gold between off-white and navy blue borders. Keen eyes will admire this interpretation of “mihrab” patterns, and how naturally their rustic charm plays with the distressed texture. An elegant mid-century design in otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage, worthy of sophisticated projects yearning for classic aesthetics. Circa 1960-1970.
