We live in the rural area of Bali island that is so peace and has strong kinship. Our family's life was underprivileged, therefore I'm not able to continue my study to university after graduated from a Senior High School. I'm a simple woman who like cycling and aerobic. Friends know me as an honest woman, a hard-worker and a woman who like helping others. I'm married in 1997 and have 2 children. Children makes my life become perfect and happier. Many changes happened to my life since after, Now I have more responsibilities but the most important thing is my children's future. In 2002, there was a very difficult moment in my life, I was starting a small shop in the market with the capital I got from a bank's loan. Suddenly there was a bomb exploding in tourism area of Bali that makes peoples suffer since most balinese work depends on the tourism line. Bali became so quiet with no visitors or customers came, this was a very tough time ever happen in my whole life. What interesting things in Bali for me is Bali rich of artistic and historical temples, whenever there are ceremonies I can pray and do the ritual there. I cannot imagine how our ancestor can built artistic and great temples like that with limited tools and resources that time. Besides, Bali has a lot of beautiful scenery, cultures and friendly people. My parent and my brother taught me, started by watching them carving the wood material at home. I was getting excited with the final result they made and learn hard how to create the piece. After Graduated from high School, I work at supermarket but not happy with the salary and I decided to do this wood carving business after married. There are 10 wood carver helping me in this work with design inspired from balinese traditional cultures. We use Acacia, Suar and hibiscus woods fro materials. And using manual tools to do hand-carving like mallet, wood saw and chisels. By creating this beautiful wood carving details we'd like to introduce to the world our traditional cultures.
