In the home to the best carvers on the continent, the soapstone is locally quarried in the Kisii District of Kenya, where it is excavated, cut to size, shaped and polished to a smooth, elegant finish using genuine human touch and hand tools. The Protect Me design series is a beautiful call for conservation, featuring stunningly carved animals and their Swahili names. With a black and white finish and natural Sisal rope wrapping the edges of the bowl, this dramatic piece is a uniquely wonderful addition to an environmentalist's collection.
