The extreme fondness to seemingly unconcluded and so varied thematic stories faces the reader of "Driving a Truck" with a very complex outlook. They are stories apparently unfinished that sooner or later find their shared narrative: the journey of Abel Corona through different Mexican towns in search of a woman called Hydrangea, and his return after the grief for his mother and, then, his sordid experience as an employee of the Public Ministry. The first one begins with the robbery of jewels that allows Abel to abandon the paternal house. This step constitutes an algid moment in the novel while the subsequent history, of a laboral type, is centered in a very concrete way in conflicts of legal power and of sexual nature, told under the perspective of a narrator with many voices. The telling of both stories consists on an elaborated narrative game: going backwards to foresee future events or forward to a future that remits to events of the past. Se trata de historias en apariencia inacabadas que ms temprano que tarde encuentran su correlato:el viaje de Abel Corona a travs de diferentes pueblos mexicanos en busca de una mujer llamada Hortensia y su retorno tras el pesar de su madre y, luego, su srdida experiencia como empleado del Ministerio Pblico. La primera se inicia a partir de un robo de joyas que permite a Abel abandonar la casa paterna. Este paso constituye un momento lgido en la novela mientras que la historia subsiguiente, de tipo laboral, se centra de manera muy concreta en conflictos de poder legal y de ndole sexual, relatados bajo la perspectiva de un narrador multvoco. El relato de ambas historias consiste en un complejo juego narrativo: un ir al pasado para anunciar sucesos futuros o hablar en un futuro que se remite a eventos del pasado.
