Patanjali stands in Anjali (Namaste) mudra and the posterior hands hold graciously carved implements- chakra and conch in his respective hands. He is adorned in a lavish kamarband and the legs are covered by the thick realistically structured three coils of the seven hooded serpent carved in intensive chisels. Patanjali is embellished in luxurious jewels that almost cover the upper half of his body; the long crown that glorifies on his head is formed in superb multiple layers, all carved in South Indian temple type designs.
