Drawing inspiration from the V & A's vast archives, Richard reimagines four favorite patterns with playful and whimsical twists, showcasing meticulous attention to detail in the patterns, illustrations, printing, and manufacturing process. Illustrated by Chris Martin and crafted by skilled potters in Stoke-on-Trent, this collection brings to life the rich history of European porcelain manufacturers inspired by "white gold" from Japan and China. The Tree of Life design draws inspiration from Ridgway and Spode patterns of the early 19th century, featuring an intricately crafted tree with bright white porcelain branches and 22K gold leaves, complemented by whimsical details of a mother woodpecker feeding her chick and a surreal giant caterpillar, creating a mesmerizing interpretation of a traditional porcelain pattern.
