"Delray Jazz Clock" is a modern metal artwork created by Emley. The abstract clock is made from a single sheet of metal infused with a modern design and a functional clock. The splash of blue and the pattern found in the piece resembles water filling a glass full of ice. Subtle ripples on the sheet of metal give the piece another dimension and movement, giving the sheet of metal life. Like jazz, this piece has an element of spontaneity and vitality with a hint of improvisation. The mere randomness of the patterns, figures, and shades used on the sheet of metal is a tribute to jazz. The level of abstraction in the piece makes it very hard to define but observers can easily recognize the message conveyed by the piece.
