Description

A cardboard cutout of John Dee. He was an astronomer, astrologer, occultist, teacher, alchemist, and mathematician who lived in the 1500s. He was Queen Elizabeth I's court advisor and astronomer. He was credited with having one of England's largest libraries. Dee left the Queen's service and devoted himself to seeking deeper knowledge in the realms of the supernatural and occult. From there it was downhill. He was accused of being a spy against the English crown. When he returned to England his library and home were found vandalized. He tried to return to the Queen, but was turned away upon the succeeding James I and died in poverty.
