A cardboard cutout of the N1/L3 Soviet space rocket from the height of the Space Race with the USA. The N1 was the Soviet Union's answer to the Saturn V and was designed for a crew to travel to the Moon and beyond. To this day, its first stage is still one of the most powerful rocket stages ever constructed. Unfortunately, although it was ahead of its time with studies on it as early as 1959, it was rushed and underfunded. The rocket had lots of failures.
