Cardboard cutout of the Star Spangled Banner Smithsonian National Museum American History Display. It is also known as the Great Garrison Flag. During the War of 1812, the garrison flag flew in Baltimore Harbor at Fort McHenry. The Star-Spangled Banner is the only American Flag have more than 13 stripes, as it has 15. The A on one of the stripes was allegedly sewn onto the flag by Louisa Armistead, the Fort McHenry Commander's widow. Dimensions are 64x47in
