The first large cent is a genuine Irish Penny. This lovely bronze one cent coin is from the Emerald Isles. The obverse features a harp, the symbol used on all Irish coins since Henry VIII. A charming hen and her chicks decorate the reverse. The coin was struck at the Royal Mint in London from 1928 to 1968. With words written in Gaelic, this genuine One Cent coin is an authentic piece of Irish charm. The second coin in the collection is the Canadian one cent coin minted from 1858 to 1920. Five different version of the Canadian Large Cent have been minted, two featured Victoria, one displayed Edward VII and two showed George V on the obverse of the coin. Several Large cents have been minted in Great Britain with the first in 1797 displaying George III and the last showing Elizabeth II minted in 1970. The Large Cents of the British Empire are displayed in a protective acrylic case. Coin years in acrylic will vary.
