Description
Mushroom Red hot peppers have a unique flattened mushroom shape with bright red skin. Each pepper is 1€? long and 1.5€? wide. Plants are 24-30 inches tall with green stems and foliage and white flowers. They may need staking to grow upright, and do well in tropical climates. They can be grown in containers as well as gardens. Peppers start as lime green and ripen to be bright red. Sow seeds a quarter inch deep indoors and transplant after a few weeks to full sun in the spring. They can be harvested when they are not yet fully mature, and are still green. For fully mature peppers, harvest after 95 days. These peppers are excellent when pickled, or dried to make spices. They also make great garnishes and additions to gourmet dishes.
