30" X 40" Valley of Mexico from the Tepeyac was painted in 1875 by Jose Maria Velasco. This painting features an elevated view of the Valley of Mexico. At first glance it appears to be just a landscape but this painting is actually about the history of the land. Today the original hangs in the National Museum of Art in Mexico City.
