Description
This transportation mode, powered by a motor in a cable house, would run along rails built into the roads. The cars would run at a constant speed requiring passengers to jump on and off. Cable cars were a previously widely used form of public transportation in the United States. John Burrows beautifully captures this part of history in his canvas art print, Cable Car.
