Description
The classic flame stitch has its origins in sixteenth and seventeenth-century European embroidery, possibly created to mimic the look of Asian ikat textiles, which arrived in Italy during this era via the Silk Road. The French versions were large-scale, multicolored panels and were known as Bergamo. Our newest and dramatic interpretation of this time-honored classic is at once modern and glamorous, embroidered in a matte-shine effect against natural linen. The palette ranges from subtly neutral to richly exotic, for easily accenting contemporary and traditional spaces such as curtains, light upholstery, headboards, and decorative pillows.
