This ready-to-hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a collage of a Western landscape. Prominent colors: teal, black, tan, grey, light blue, white, yellow. Inspired by his lifetime dedication to Blues music and vintage cars, John began taking photographs in search of abandoned America. He spent seven years taking thousands of photographs of farmhouses, motels, gas stations, salvage yards, amazing Americana scenery, and all manner of vehicles. Printing these photographs, he meticulously crops out each element, shape, and icon and mounts them on foam core. He then assembles these 3-dimensional shots into a well-arranged work of art and photographs the entire montage a second time. The result is the creation of a roadside masterpiece, depicting a world of decades past. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high-quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is the wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured in a hidden, wooden frame.
