Description
This brass sculpture of Hanuman is a spectacular example of great artistry. The brass is of very rich quality and even much exceptional is the appreciable skill of the artist who succeeded in defining Hanuman with so much perfection; fixate your eyes anywhere on the statue and you will be in eternal delight. Bajrangbali stands here in Abhaya mudra and is blessing strength and fearlessness to everyone. The crown of Hanuman is very densely designed and the leaf in the centre with clear striations is a gem to it. Mace (Gada), the weapon of Hanuman, is made more attractive as itâs chipped with the small tridents and flowers on alternate stripes. The broad chest and the fine shape of the torso amplify the beauty of this idol. The heavy embroidery on dhoti is so unique that it complements the design of the necklace and the sacred thread (Janeoo). Two things to be noticed are, how balanced the carving of the legs is, and the tail that goes all the way flowing around the aureole is very well spaced with attractive designs. This is a focal point in the sculpture. The final touch is given by adding a high pedestal on which the deity stands and note how pointy the edges are of the sculpture and the chiseled lotus flower on different levels of the plinth.
