Remove carbon insert when medicating water as carbon will absorb any medications. Clean the pre-filter sponge once per week by rinsing in a bucket of tank water and squeezing out the excess. Replace monthly. Change out 25-30% of the water weekly or as needed to maintain appropriate nitrate levels. Use a water conditioner and bacteria supplement (sold separately) every time you add fresh water to your aquarium.
