Natasha Barnes (Born 1969) is a self-taught South African fine art artist who started painting at the age of 7. Her works depict expressionism, movement, and color in a manner that draws her viewers deep into her stories. Natasha's art covers a variety of topics drawn from her travels to different geographical locations. At the same time, she's inspired by the images of the African continent. Natasha didn't get any formal training in art and only took a few informal instructions from other artists. She studied Cordon Bleu cookery before landing a job with a reputable South African magazine, working as a cookery editor and food stylist. Natasha would later start her own cookery school. Through her school, she realized that her art isn't just limited to paintings as she also does well with cooking and designing wedding cakes, floral arrangements, and sugarcraft. Even while working in the food industry, she still painted part-time and getting some time to exhibit them in different shows and galleries across South Africa. Natasha creates her art using water-based mediums and often uses thick layers and texture to properly depict her subjects. However, her painting procedure depends on the subject she's working on at any given time. She's very much inspired by cats, flowers, African landscapes, and abstracts. Natasha prefers to properly get her subjects in her mind and create art on canvas without necessarily having a photo of the subject. Her works are found in different galleries and collections and are presented in different shows across the globe, including New York Artexpo, 6th Sense Show, London, Birmingham Spring Fair, and more. Apart from South Africa, her art pieces have been extensively exhibited in the US, UK, and the Middle East. They have also been used to make products by Hallmark and Marks & Spencer's Division. We bring this piece to your home or office with over 3 years of decorative framing and art experience behind us; sourced from around the globe and proudly made in America. Red Barrel Studio®
