Innsbruck Seen from the North, circa 1494 by German artist, Albrecht Durer. The original of this painting is currently housed in a private collection. Albrecht Durer appreciated the beauty of this location for the gothic architecture alongside the river. He would find many angles from which provided a composition for his watercolors, both within the city itself as well as outside the city. Durer made use of the reflection of the water which surrounded the city. There is a romantic nature to the architecture in his painting almost like a fairytale.
