Hinoki Golden Falsecypress is a slow growing, upright evergreen with golden yellow, fernlike new growth. The growth matures to dark green on a stiff, sculptured growth habit. Hardy to zone 5, but needs some protection from windy conditions and may sunburn in hot, full sun locations. Ideal for a protected area with morning sun, and afternoon shade. Has great winter interest as well, as the bark is shed in long strips, addding to its interest in the landscape.
