Description
Harold Silverman was born and raised in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. He is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and enjoyed a career in the manufacturing of ladies sportswear. His particular skills were in design, product development, and pattern making. In 1970 photography became the sanity within the pressures of the business world and the darkroom became the catalyst to vent a lifelong artistic effort. Several major exhibits developed during this timeframe and a book of this effort has always been on the drawing boards. In 1997 he was introduced to the world of “Photoshop” and his photography hasn’t been the same since. Having excellent computer skills made the learning curve much shorter than normal and with the proper formal training he began to bring to life images that combine the passion for photography and the world of “Art.” With the archival printing process of “Pigment Inks” finally at hand, being able to maintain color fastness that even Michael Angelo would be proud of, has commissioned Harold Silverman to find his place in the world of “Art,” producing photos with detail and color never before available directly to the artists. Beside the gallery showings over the years his “Fine Art Images” are currently being sold through print shops and gift shops. As the future of technology unfolds the world of photography will get better and last long enough that many generations will be able to view the places that we have photographed. Long after the scenery has regenerated into a new beauty, the photographers to come will be able to follow the lead we have begun.
