Description

This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, provides a snapshot of the excitement as the BYU Cougars defeat their co-conference opponent. This is only the third time these two teams have met in play and, the first time ever at the Marriott Center. This is a matchup that many BYU fans looked forward to. Despite the not-so-warm weather during basketball season in Provo, students camped outside the Marriott Center in hopes of snagging front row seating. The Marriott Center was named in honor of benefactor J. Willard Marriott, founder of the Marriott Corporation. BYU fielded its first basketball team in 1903.
