Description
Dwarf Burford holly features glossy deep-green leaves and nice red berries throughout winter. The compact habit is great for massing where a small broad plant is needed. Birds love the ornamental red berries; deer tend to avoid the foliage, which is on the rough side. The leaves, up to 4” long, have a single spine at the tip, unlike other holly bushes that have many spines. Use as a medium hedge or medium border specimen. With attractive foliage all year long, this holly makes a terrific foundation plant and backdrop for splashy bloomers. Can be kept “trim and proper” as a dense, compact, formal screen or hedge or left to grow wild for a more natural, open look.
