Just as the great oak is a symbol of unity, strength, and endurance, so the Pennsylvania Firebacks Small Oak Cast Iron Fireback represents durability and beauty. This fireback was originally designed by artist J. Del Conner in 1979 on a grander scale. In 1986, the artist created this smaller version of the very popular original to be used in prefab and smaller fireplaces.By protecting the back wall of the fireplace, this fireback increases its functionality by radiating heat and light from the fire out into the room. All Pennsylvania Firebacks work beautifully with either traditional wood fires or more modern remote controlled log units. Paired with the patented Saf-T-Boots, this fireback can be adjusted to fit with any angle found in the fireplace. Firebacks are shipped with a water base black paint to prevent rust build up during transit. To give a brighter finish to the fireback and to protect the casting from rust after use with a fire, an application of water base graphite stove polish is recommended.
