Peru's Quipac draws inspiration from the Roman classic Nino de la Espina known in English as Boy With Thorn. A famous sculpture depicting a boy removing a thorn from his foot it has since been recreated by many artists around the world. Quipac hand-paints a small composition to recreate Boy With Thorn using oils and acrylics on canvas housed behind glass in a reliquary that centers a length of foxtail chain. The artisan takes great care in creating this accessory protecting the small painting within a silver frame.
