Description

This is a multi niche collectible Not only is it a promotional advertising item for a 1940's funeral parlor, but it is also a religious collectible. The LeClerc Funeral Service of Manchester, NH offered this item to clients & perspective clients. Manchester at the time was a very Roman Catholic City, as it had been developed in the early 20th Century by many immigrants from French Canada as well as Italy. Funerary costumes & traditions were often dictated to by the Roman Catholic Church. This item is not only a thermometer, but also a framed print of Our Lady of Fatima. She is appearing here before the three Portuguese children - Lucia, Jacinta & Francisco in 1917. The print is in a gold metal frame which measures 10" x 8". The print is in excellent condition. The backing of the farm does show a water stain & the pull out tab to sit the frame on a surface has torn off. There is still a metal loop on top so that this frame could be hung on a wall.
