I made these papers specifically with signatures in mind because of the horizontal rule but they can be used anywhere that you would use your coffee dyed papers. They have a wonderful soft, warm feeling as they are actually made of newsprint paper & they can be used in both inkjet & laser printers. ABOUT OUR TEA & COFFEE DYES All of our tea/coffee dyes are made from actual herbs, flowers, vegetables & ground coffee bean steeped teas with no added coloring agents. The dyed papers are then completely air dried (to prevent them from getting brittle) on bamboo, straw mats & stencils or flat, then gently pressed. I use a series of different techniques to ensure that each & every one of my dyed papers is unique such as crumple drying, stencil drying, etc. These papers are dyed using repurposed, espresso coffee grinds. No food is wasted in the dye making process. No coloring agents are added. I use espresso coffee because of the creamy vanilla browns it produces & the warm, subtle coffee scent as opposed to the orangish color & strong acidic smell that results from instant coffee. It's just a matter of preference. We do our best to select a good mix of the different variations for each packet, please keep in mind that shades vary from batch to batch. PLEASE NOTE The photos provided are a representation of the papers we make & may not be the exact papers you receive. Tea/coffee dyed papers are not acid free because of the various acids that are present in the plants used in the dying process. If this is particularly concerning to you, you can spray a matte fixative on the surface to mitigate any effect the acid may have over time on inks etc. There is a very slight shrinkage by the end of the process.
