Description
This beautiful silver wine ewer was presented to a vicar on his leaving the parish in 1899. It weighs 489 grams & is hallmarked as Sterling Silver on the neck of the ewer. The lid is also part-marked (see image) as is the custom with pieces that are made of more than one part. The handle & the knob on the lid are made from walnut. From the base to the pouring lip is 9 inches. The inscription reads: Presented to the REV'd A.M. LITTLEHALES by the PARISHIONERS ON HIS LEAVING SNETTERTON Easter Day 1899.
