Offer is for the LARGE well rooted Species Cleistocactus samaipatanus plant shown above in the last picture. Main stems are 12 & 20 inches! 7 of them are 6-8 inches , 4 are 12 inches long. Species Cleistocactus samaipatanus Has small reddish to pinkish, lilac edged blooms in a tube form with a purple stamen. Bloom tube/ flower average 3" inches long with a 1-1/2" average diameter. A vigorous grower Cleistocactus samaipatanus has narrow cylindrical green to goldRen-brown stems that have numerous small golden spines. Best grown in a hanging basket as once the stems achieve some length that will become pendant. Care; Easy to grow Cleistocactus samaipatanus likes rich well draining soil. Water well in summer but only occasionally in winter. Can take some full sun by coastal areas but prefers bright partially filtered light most locations. Hardy to 25 degrees, but grows best at 70 degrees or more. Native to; Bolivia (South America). Habitat: Widespread on rocky outcrops in forests within seasonally dry inter-Andean valleys & lowlands. It is common throughout its range. Somewhat uncommon in garden collections. Synonym(s): Bolivicereus samaipatanus, Borzicactus samaipatanus, Akersia roseiflora-(see below), Bolivicereus brevicaulis, Bolivicereus croceus, Bolivicereus rufus. More Info : Often mis-classified as Akersia roseiflora which is an older name. The plants described as Akersia roseiflora are synonymous with Cleistocactus Samaipatanus. Under its older name Akersia roseiflora was used extensively as a cross for many Hildewintera hybrids, one example is Hildewintera cv 'OTTO SCHULTZ'.
