"Act of the Heart" is a portrait of Martha Hayes, a woman who is searching for meaning & spiritual independence. Martha (Geneviève Bujold) ekes out a meager existence in Montreal as a tutor & a singer in an Anglican Church choir. Soon she meets Father Michael Ferrier, an Augustinian monk who's the guest conductor for an interfaith concert. Soon the question becomes...just how far is Martha willing to go to show her devotion to the Lord? Lavished with a number of Canadian screen awards & an important independent film from the 1970s, "Act of the Heart" is one of a string of deeply personal movies by the then-husband & wife team, Paul Almond & Geneviève Bujold. Bujold shines in this formative role as her character toys with the notion of entering a convent but instead falls in love with a monk, who schools her in the primitive practice of self-sacrifice by fire. Donald Sutherland plays the monk in a challenging role, unlike any of his later performances. A lost Canadian gem set against the gorgeous winter backdrop of Montreal, Act of the Heart is a work of the heart. These magnets are silver & visible in photographs in each of the poster's (4) corners. This poster & its excellent condition are a rare & special find! Please Note: These Posters are anywhere from 20-70 years old & were issued to movie theaters at the time of the film's release. All Posters came through Auction, Gallery purchase, or from the original movie theater proprietors. Although all posters are stored FLAT & carefully maintained, original poster art of this age can never be in perfect unused condition as it was originally displayed in a Movie Theater.
