Description

Rare cobbler's hammers. Probably from the 1800s, these are being offered as a pair, & you get both for $48 with FREE shipping. The heads are cast metal, hand made by a blacksmith, & they have dings & dents & patina from 100 or more years of use. The handles are probably maple, possibly oak, & they have that lovely smooth wood feel from decades of use. They are in remarkable condition given their age, they are solid, sturdy, & perfectly functional. The head on the small one wiggles. Nice find. The smaller of the shoemaker's hammers measures about 7 1/8" long & 2 1/2" deep & offers a square striking surface about 1" by 1". The larger of the hammers measures 10" long & 3 1/4" deep & has a round textured striking surface about 1 1/2" in diameter. Together the hammers weigh almost 2 pounds. You get the pair for $48 with FREE shipping within the United States. Sorry I will not offer these individually. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible.
