This Egyptian Scarab gauge swatch ruler is extra large for your larger swatches. The gauge, which measures 5x5 inches is made from maple wood & has a four inch ruler & a ten centimetre guide. This is a great tool for those who Egyptian style art with scarab & beetle insects. To use the tool, hold it up against your stitch work & count how many stitches fit inside the cut out area. By placing the tool over your work you can see how many stitches you have per inch & per centimeter. The bottom slot measurements are in inches & side slot measurements are in centimeters. The bottom is used for stitch gauge & side is used for row gauge. This ruler is great for all fiber artists. Side note: If you need more stitches per inch, swatch with smaller needles & if you need fewer stitches per inch, swatch with larger needles.
