Description

In 1970, the US Post Office issued this 6c stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution. Ratified on August 18, 1920, this amendment granted American women the right to vote—a right known as women's suffrage. This actual, unused postage stamp is mounted in a 3.75 by 4.75 inch wood frame. Please indicate what color frame you prefer: white (as shown), black, or walnut. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 1406.
