This version of the Nativity was painted by the American artist John Singleton Copley. Painted in London in 1776, it is an oil painting on canvas & is now in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 1701.
