Description

This large maritime map was printed by the National Ocean Survey of the National Oceanic & Atmosphere Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce & was issued September 2, 1972. It shows the approaches to New Haven Harbor from Long Island Sound, & this is Map # 218. This is an authentic map of the period - it is not a reproduction, not a re-print, & not a digital print. The map is interesting as it shows the soundings (depth) of the rivers in feet, & it shows the clearance heights of all the bridges, all of the navigational lights & structures, & temporary & permanent anchorages. This map shows parts of Long Island Sound, the West River Channel, New Haven, Fair Haven, East & West Haven, the Mill River & the Quinnipiac River as well as a detailed inset featuring New Haven Harbor. This large map measures 41 1/2" by 30" & has been folded as you see in the photos. It is printed in color. The map is in fair condition. Some authentic vintage stains & dirt, as this was purchased from a fellow who used to sail up & down the eastern seaboard in a sailboat. FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible.
