This Grandfather Burr Puzzle is one of the hardest interlocking puzzles in our collection. The Grandfather Burr Puzzle was designed by W. L. van der Poel, a Dutch computer scientist that used to design & create puzzles as his hobby. The Grandfather Burr Puzzle has 18 pieces, all with notches. The puzzle's design makes it extremely difficult because there are "holes" in the interior of the puzzle body, unlike most other regular burr puzzles that have no holes. Regular burr puzzles have 1 "key" piece (the piece is a full bar) that can be removed easily to unlock the puzzle & release the rest of the pieces. To unlock the Grandfather Burr Puzzle, you will have to find the right sequence of moves to release the first piece. To put all the 18 pieces together will be a much more complex task, you will need lots of patience & determination This high-level difficult puzzle is perfect for serious puzzlers with a lot of extra time on their hands.
