Not only had it been in the studio for every album recorded during that period but it was used at such famous events as the ARMS charity concerts in 1983 & Live Aid in 1985. Blackie can also be seen in Eric's first music video, Forever Man which supported his album Behind The Sun & also appears on several album covers including Slowhand, Just One Night & The Cream of Eric Clapton. Auctioned for a record $959,500 in aid of the Crossroads Centre rehabilitation facility, Blackie was purchased by the U.S. music retailer Guitar Center in 2004. in 2006, the Guitar Center with Eric Clapton's permission, announced a limited edition of Blackie replicas in connection with Fender Guitars where a portion of each sale benefitted the Crossroads Centre. Blackie took up permanent residence at Guitar Center's flagship store in New York City in October 2014. The illustration on this card was hand drawn by George Morgan & is not a photograph.
