A wonderful addition that would compliment your fireplace or accent your wall. It is made to look like a heavy beam, but is a hollow design & very light. Our mantels hang using the classic French cleat hanging system. There is no stronger way to hang a shelf, & one of the best things about using this system is that no screw holes, no plugs, etc can be seen. - We use kiln dried, select grade Pine for our products & samples. It is important to note that every piece of wood is truly unique & takes stain differently than the next. Pine naturally contains knots & grain variations - & some color variance. The natural wood is most commonly a creamy white or a pale yellow & knots are brownish, providing a nice contrast. Occasionally, the wood can have reddish/brown areas (that is from the inner most portions of the tree, aka: heartwood). - Each finished mantel has two coats of Satin Polyurethane water based clear coat. - These are available in standard sizes of 4x4, 4x5, 4x6, 4x7, 4x8, 5x5, 5x6, 5x7, 5x8, 6x6, 6x7 & 6x8 - Standard lengths of 48", 54", 60", 66" & 72" are available. - 4x4 beams are 4" high by about 4" deep. - 4x5 beams are 4" high by about 5" deep. - 4x6 beams are 4" high by about 6" deep. - 4x7 beams are 4" high by about 7" deep. - 4x8 beams are 4" high by about 8" deep. - 5x5 beams are 5" high by about 5" deep. - 5x6 beams are 5" high by about 6" deep. - 5x7 beams are 5" high by about 7" deep. - 5x8 beams are 5" high by about 8" deep. - 6x6 beams are 6" high by about 6" deep. - 6x7 beams are 6" high by about 7" deep. - 6x8 beams are 6" high by about 8" deep. - These come with all mounting hardware. If a brick install is required, please specify, as we provide the hardware for that type of install as well. If you need an in between length, round up to the next size available. Example. If you need a 63" length, round up to 66" & just make a note on your order for your length request. If you are intending to use one of our mantels to cover something, please reach out to us to first confirm that it is possible to do. The inside dimensions & construction of our mantels is part of our unique composition & while it is a hollow design, there are structural supports & installation cleats that are critical to the structural integrity & ability to install the piece. It is important to note that our Pine fireplace mantels are decorative elements that increase the beauty of your space. Their primary function is aesthetic in nature.
