$76.00

Description

The clapper is a useful tool when tailoring. It is used to flatten bulky facings, collars, edges, buttonholes pleats & hems. It is used after steam pressing to beat or 'clap' the steam into the fabric, producing a flatter seam or clean edge. The convenient handle allows you to work with the clapper as comfortably as possible. Instructions on how to work with the clapper: The clapper should be placed on the seam immediately after pressing with a steam iron & wait for it to cool. It takes literally a few seconds. Then you can remove the clapper. This process must be carried out consistently over the entire required area. The sole plate is covered with lilac fabric. Dimensions: Length - 25 cm Height - 11 cm Width - 10 cm Wood: ash. The wood is thoroughly sanded so it doesn't catch on the fabric or your hands. The pressing boards are hand made in Ukraine. Made from only hardwoods grown in Ukraine. Tailor's Clapper Iron | Lilac Fabric Covered Sole
