Made with raw umber pigment, it is the classic choice for so much painted furniture. It is also a great foil for other colours. Country Grey is now packaged in a LITRE & the color is different than what was in the quart containers! Back as the end of 2018 / early 2019 Annie Sloan took over the distribution of her products in North America. Annie's products are sold in over 60 countries & North America was the only one - where the pigments were slightly different & the packaging was different. So, to bring us inline with all the other countries, a change was made & the color of Country Grey drifted. It once had a slight tinge of sage....or a soft green to it. The paint is more like a puddy or a neutral & that slight sage - is no longer. The packaging increased from a quart to a litre - so from 32 ounces to 33.8 ounces. PACKAGING CHANGED TO LITERS! ~ Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan is sold all over the world. Russia, Germany, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Italy, Greece & Mars. (only joking about Mars....but maybe someday!) Through out 2019the packaging of paint will be transitioning so all countries are aligned & in the USA, the 32 ounce quart (being a little redundant therelol) containers will be going to liters...which is around 34 ounces. OPENING THE LIDS OFF THE LITRE: Watch this video to show you how best to open so you do not bend the lids. VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGRADING OPENING THE LIDS ON THE LITRES:To remove the lid on the liters, gently wedge a paint can opener or a blunt object, like the end of a spoon's handle under the lid. Gently & patiently, go all the around the lids edge by turning the paint can 360 degrees. This will gently lift the lid without denting it. Besides the change of more paint in the container - the liter's lids are just a little different & take a softer hand to open & close. Use a paint can opener & wiggle it around the lid completely. You will find the paint in the liters will be slightly thicker- here are some tips when using: 1. A light touch with your brush is needed. It spreads much more easily than trying to push the paint around. Using an Annie Sloan paint brush is important. 2. A spray bottle will be your new best friend & you may find it will really help if you are painting in a linear motion. 3. Use your spray bottle to wet sand with Annie's sanding pads. You will find that it distresses the paint beautifully! Don't forget when purchasing Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan- to consider purchasing her Clear Wax also. Annie's paint & wax were created to partner perfectly together! The paint itself will harden but the wax will truly protect it! The wax does completely harden & it becomes hard & is water repellent.
