Description
- This is a 1962 edition of the card game PIT by Parker Brothers. This set is in pretty good vintage condition & is complete, but the box has a name on the box & a paper tear on the lid. This set has blue images of a guy on the market floor, surrounded by others in 60s-era suits. There are red vertical bars that frame the scene & have the number & commodity. The back has the blue design of a traditional playing card with the bull & bear above & below the word PIT. Take a look at the photos. About the game. Pit is a fast-paced card game for three to eight players, designed to simulate open outcry bidding for commodities. The game was developed for Parker Brothers & first sold in 1904. This popular version of the game was developed by Edgar Cayce who would also become famous for his alleged psychic talents. The inspirations were the Chicago Board of Trade (known as 'The Pit') & the US Corn Exchange & it was likely based on the very successful game Gavitt's Stock Exchange, invented in 1903 by Harry E. Gavitt of Topeka, Kansas This game ships priority with calculated shipping, but if 1st class is comparable in time, I will refund the overage.
