RARE Antique Victorian 1800s sterling silver figural quad prong Whaling hook watch fob pendant charm, circa 1860 Handsome, handmade Victorian era whaling hook fob for a watch chain. Miniature quad prong barbed hook - used as a gaff for whaling. The staff of the hook is wrapped in silver 'rope' & there is a small length of the original fob chain hanging from the bail. This could also be a mountaineering grappling hook fob for rock climbing. Fantastic piece of history! Measures approximately 1" high & 3/4" wide.
