Vintage Handmade Zulu, South Africa Beaded Ishicholo Hat. These hats are made using stretched rayon fabric pleated around a large ring which tapers down to a smaller ring encased in a glass seed bead design, this beaded band holds the hat to your head. Small glass beads also encircle the top larger ring & there is a beaded design on the crown of the hat. All the beadwork is multi colored with a multi colored geometric pattern around the headband. Each hat measures approximately 12" inches in diameter across the top of the hat & 8" inches in diameter across the beaded band which sits on your head, the circumference of the band is about 21.5" inches, making this a size S/M. The beaded band measures approximately 1" inch wide, the hat is approximately 4" inches tall. These style hats are totally wearable & would be a great addition to any ethnic hat collection or wardrobe. These hats are pictured in black, they have different colors for the inside linings (red, blue & brown) we also have them with orange & red outer fabric, please check all the photos or our other listing for the additional colors.
